The ISM family of IO modules (powered by Gantner Technologies) are so powerful and flexible that many applications that previously required an entire controller can be implemented with just one ISM module.
This is particularly true of the ISM-112 which the been used in many applications as a "Super Multi-Channel Signal Conditioner" or "Equation Station". Taking multiple analog and digital inputs, running an algorithm on them, and creating a resulting analog output.
